19 July 2010 - Wind Farms in Hood River

When we were driving from Spokane to Bend we drove allong the Columbia river and saw more wind turbines than you could imagine. It looked like something out of a movie - these white wind mills - contructed to produced energy from the wind were absolutely everywhere. We learned that the first wind farm was built in 1980 in the state of New Hampshire. Supposidly the biggest wind farm in the world is in Texas. We are not sure how efficient wind power is but we can confirm that up in northern Oregon is is very very wind.
